The market buzz is that Ajit's Vishnuvardhan directed Billa, will not make it for Diwali! The last two songs are to be picturised in Malayasia for the film from October 8, and Vishnu keeps on saying that he will have the film ready for Diwali!

Trade sources have indicated that a major corporate is on the verge of snapping up Billa Indian theatrical rights for a fancy price. And the corporate have indicated to the producer Ananda Suresh, that they would prefer a December release as all good theatres in Chennai, Kovai and Madurai have signed up to play ATM, Vel and Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om, this Diwali.

And in the international market all theatres screening Indian films have been booked by Eros Entertainment, Bollywoods leading overseas distributor who has snapped up Om Shanti Om world theatrical rights for a whopping Rs 75 crore and the first Indian film releasing with 2000 prints!

Added to that there is the Hollywood studio Sony pictures, Sanjay Leela Bhansali film they have produced Saawariya, which is also releasing for Diwali worldwide. Vijay’s ATM itself is finding it difficult to get overseas theatres! So in all probability Billa will release only in December, when it has the advantage of a solo release.

Another indication that the film may not release for Diwali is that the overseas distributor of Billa is Ayngaran International, and they have a strategic tie-up with Eros!
